What airport should I fly into?मुझे किस हवाई अड्डे पर उतरना चाहिए? ▼
Fly into Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN). It is approximately 38–50 minutes by car from both Sitges and Almiral de la Font. How do I get from the airport to the villa or Sitges?मैं हवाई अड्डे से विला या सिचेस कैसे पहुँचूँ? ▼
The easiest option is a private transfer or taxi (~40–50 minutes). You can also take the R2 Sud regional train from Barcelona Sants to Sitges (~40 minutes), then a taxi to the villa (~15 minutes). Do I need a visa to enter Spain?क्या स्पेन में प्रवेश के लिए मुझे वीज़ा चाहिए? ▼
It depends on your passport. US passport holders can enter Spain (Schengen Area) without a visa for stays up to 90 days. Indian passport holders will need a Schengen visa in advance. The Mehendi (May 10 evening), Sangeet (May 11 evening), full Wedding Day (May 12), and Pool Party (May 13) are open to all guests. The Haldi ceremony (May 11 late morning) is a smaller, close-family gathering. What is a Baraat?बारात क्या है? ▼
The Baraat is the groom's wedding procession — a joyful, celebratory arrival with music, dancing, and fanfare. Guests are encouraged to join in the dancing as Satyam arrives at Masia Casa del Mar. What is the Shaadi / Mandap ceremony?शादी / मंडप समारोह क्या है? ▼
The Shaadi is the Hindu wedding ceremony performed beneath a Mandap (ceremonial canopy). It involves sacred rituals, vows, and the Saptapadi (seven steps around a sacred fire), performed with a pandit. It is a full, wonderful day. The Baraat begins around 2 PM, and the evening reception runs until around midnight. The after-party then continues back at Almiral de la Font. Bright, festive colours — yellows, oranges, pinks, greens. Indian attire is welcome (salwar kameez, kurta, lehenga); sundresses or linen in warm tones work too. Festive and glamorous — this is a party. Lehenga, saree, sherwani, or indo-western fusion; cocktail or formal in rich colours works too. For the Baraat and Shaadi: your most celebratory Indian formal look — silk, brocade, georgette; sherwani, kurta-churidar, or bandhgala. For the American ceremony and dinner: black tie optional — keep your Indian look or change, both are welcome. Some guests will stay on-site at Almiral de la Font (close family and wedding party). All other guests are encouraged to stay in Sitges, about 15 minutes from the villa, with a great range of hotels and apartments. Spain uses the Euro (€). Cards are widely accepted, but it is worth having some cash for smaller purchases and taxis. May in Sitges is lovely — warm and mostly sunny with daytime highs around 20–24°C (68–75°F). Absolutely. Sitges is a gorgeous coastal town with beaches, restaurants, and a charming old town. Barcelona is only 40 minutes away.
